RENTON — Ken Cornist hadn't seen his family in four months, but his dad flew north from San Diego to watch the running back play in the Seattle-Tacoma Cobras' league opener Saturday night.

The Cobras (1-0), who will open Professional Developmental Football League play on June 8, took apart the semipro Inner City Shine from Oregon 77-12 in their season opener at Renton Memorial Stadium.
